Here we have the perfect stove to either provide all the heating and hot water needs of a low energy or passiv house or to simply reduce your gas and electricity bills by being linked in with your existing boiler. Every time it is lit in the evening and at weekends it will take over from the gas boiler and, while you enjoy the flames and warmth in the living room, it will be heating the rest of the house and giving you hot water.
At an efficiency of 83.9%, this is an exceptionally well designed stove that ensures you will get the most from every log you put into it. Having primary, secondary and tertiary combustion means that it burns extremely cleanly with a flame pattern that is second to none and it has a tested heat spread of between 5 and 11 kilowatt. So clean is the burn that it even has a DEFRA Exemption that allows it to burn wood in smokeless zones.
Installing an Opus Calypso is made particularly straightforward by the fact that it comes pre-plumbed. Take off the back panel and all the pipework, overheat safety valve, manual air vent and pressure relief valve are already in place. All the installer has to do is connect a load unit and link it in with the central heating and hot water tank using a system zone manifold. And since a Calypso is equally at home on an open vented or pressurised system there’s not even a need to use heat exchangers.
With the trademark Opus good looks and excellent finish and with a choice of grey or black, the Calypso becomes the focus of any room that it's in but don’t be fooled by the good looks, this is a hard working boiler stove that will quickly bring your gas or oil bills down.
