Stoves come in many shapes, sizes and types. Modern stoves can burn efficiently over a much wider range of heat outputs - so you can run a modern one slowly but it will still give out far lower particulate emissions than old models.

The De Manincor FKA900 is a high quality woodburning range cooker stove with a window to the firebox and a high output backboiler. This range cooker stove has a nominal heat output to water of 16kW: enough to provide hot water and to run around 6-7 radiators - plenty for most houses.

The addition of another set of convection tubes raise the maximum heat output of the Bruno T8 woodburning stove up to 9 kW, that bit bigger than the Bruno T6 wood stove.
