Defra Exempt Free Standing Stoves
DEFRA Exempt stoves are certified to reduce air pollution, making them suitable for Smoke Control Areas. They pass lab tests measuring emissions at both full and reduced output, typically using firewood. Since 2022, Ecodesign legislation has introduced stricter emissions limits than DEFRA Exemption, though it doesn’t include reduced output testing. The Skanterm Emotion S can be rotated on its log store by 120º, has a huge panoramic window spanning most of the front face of the stove which has a unique eye shape. A 4kW, 82.3% efficient woodburner, the Skanterm Emotion S functions as well as it looks.
