Having a cast iron door allows the window to come right to the edges of the firebox, giving you a superb view of the fire. A single combustion lever hands you full control of the output and lets you set the flames to dance above the logs as they burn cleanly and controllably.

The Loughrigg is so efficient and clean that it is permitted to burn wood in smoke control areas.
