Eco Timber is a Leeds based company that specialises in the recycling of timber and wood in the Leeds & Bradford area. Bags of recycled timber, all the timber is ex packaging and usually 3 inch square and no longer than six inch lengths, is free from nails and always kiln dried so no storing is neccesary and the blocks give a strong hot flame as they contain very little moisture. Ideal for log burners etc. the timber has not been painted or pressure treated (tanalised decking etc can give off arsenic and other nasties when burnt) but may have some marking as it has all been used before. Dry timber gives a cleaner and more efficient burn, for example, wood burning stoves ideally need wood with a moisture content below 25 otherwise they can lose as much as 80 of their efficiency in terms of heat generation. Wood with a high moisture content also gives off much higher levels of smoke/pollution which is more damaging to the environment and reduces the life expectancy of your flue. Burning dry wood gives efficient, cost effective heating with wood burning stoves, or any type of wood burning, and is near carbon neutral.
