Flexible chimney liner system design, measuring the height of your chimney

How to measure the height of your chimney
Measuring the height of your chimney is pretty easy. The height that we need is the height from the hearth or floor where the stove will sit to the top of the chimney stack. This height does not include the height of the chimney pot.

How to measure the height of your chimney

Measure the height of any rooms from the floor to the ceiling.
Measure the height in the loftspace from the floor / top of the beams to the ridge of the roof.
Add on 300mm for every floor / ceiling.
Go outside and look at your chimney. Estimate how much higher your chimney stack is than the ridge of your roof. If your stack is made of brick then each course of bricks should be around 100mm.

Take bends in your chimney into account by adding extra length to this measurement. Bear in mind liner is cut by the meter length - better to have a little too much than too little.
